Aspect
An aspect is the distance or angle between two points or planets in a birth chart. This angle can then give a certain flavour and can predict what the energy will be like between the two planets.
There are five aspects - conjunction, sextile, square, trine and opposition. They are the five major aspects and will give the strongest energy and impact on your life. There are also minor aspects - semi-sextile, quincunx, quintile, bi-quintile, semi-square, semi-quintile and septile. They are not considered as important as their energy isnt as strong. Each of these terms has an angle associated with it too. For example a square is 90 degrees. An opposition is 180 degrees.
Just because the angle doesnt hit the round number, for example 90 degrees, it doesnt mean it isnt a square, it just means the number needs to be around 90 for it to be a square. Aspects can also be described as ‘a strong aspect‘ the closer it is the whole number and ‘a loose aspect’ the further away it is.
